Generative AI

GENERATIVE AI WITH CLAUDE

Build apps, platforms, automations, and websites with Claude. A hands-on 3-day course for non-coders who want to turn workplace ideas into real digital tools using Claude and Cowork.

About the

Course

Made for curious professionals, creative teams, business owners, and “I have an idea but I don’t code” people.

This course teaches you how to use Claude and Cowork to turn ideas into working digital tools, from applications and custom platforms to automation tools and websites. Instead of using AI only for writing or brainstorming, you’ll learn how to use Claude as a practical building partner to plan, build, test, and refine real solutions.

Across 3 hands-on days, you’ll learn how to identify problems or opportunities, translate them into buildable ideas, design simple user flows, create useful features, and develop a working prototype with AI-assisted tools.

By the end of the course, you’ll move from “I’ve been using AI to write things” to “I built something I can actually use.”

No coding background needed. Just bring an idea worth building.

Some of the topics covered in this workshop include:

  • Understanding how Claude works, including prompts, context, instructions, reasoning, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skills, and how to guide it towards better outputs
  • Using Claude as a thinking, planning, writing, building, and troubleshooting partner
  • Understanding what can be built with Claude and Cowork, including applications, websites, custom platforms, dashboards, and automation tools
  • Understanding how MCP and Skills extend Claude's capabilities by enabling access to external tools, files, knowledge sources, and business systems
  • Turning an idea, problem, or opportunity into a clear build brief with user flows, features, inputs, and outputs
  • Structuring effective prompts, instructions, and contextual information so Claude can generate more accurate, useful, and usable results
  • Building pages, forms, dashboards, workflows, and interactive experiences in Cowork
  • Designing simple automation-style workflows that reduce repetitive steps and improve productivity
  • Creating useful outputs such as reports, recommendations, summaries, action plans, trackers, or client-facing results
  • Testing and refining prototypes through feedback, iteration, and troubleshooting
  • Understanding how to connect Claude-built tools to real business, creative, personal, and operational use cases using MCP, Skills, and external integrations
  • Presenting a final prototype clearly, including what it does, who it is for, how it works, and how it can be further improved, connected, or implemented

How Claude AI Works at Work

Get a clear, practical foundation in Claude AI and how it fits into professional workflows, before you write a single line of code.

  • What Claude AI is and how it fits into the Anthropic ecosystem
  • Claude Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus: Understanding the model family and choosing the right model for your task
  • How Claude processes information: Context windows, tokens, and what that means for your workflows
  • Temperature settings: When to use precise outputs vs creative drafting
  • Writing effective system prompts that define Claude's professional role, output format, tone, and constraints
  • Lab: Write and test a system prompt prototype for your own job role in Claude.ai

( 02 )

Connecting to the Anthropic API

Move beyond the chat interface. Learn how to access Claude programmatically and build the foundation for automated, integrated workflows.

  • Setting up API authentication and making your first successful API call
  • Core API parameters: Model, max_tokens, temperature, system, and messages
  • Structuring API requests to produce reliable, consistent, professional-grade outputs
  • Technical specification writing: How to document what your API tool does, its inputs, outputs, and dependencies
  • Lab: Build a working API call for a daily work task and document it as a formal technical specification

( 03 )

Tool Use: Giving Claude Hands and Skills

Tool use is what transforms Claude from a conversational assistant into an agent. Learn how to define tools, pass them to Claude, and build the interaction model around them.

  • What tool use is and why it changes what Claude can do in a work context
  • Defining tools as JSON schemas and passing them to the Anthropic API
  • How Claude decides when and how to call a tool, and how to handle multi-turn tool conversations
  • Interface design for agent interactions: Input schemas, output formats, feedback loops, and error handling
  • Lab: Give Claude two tools and build a functional prototype for a real work task

( 04 )

Thinking in Agents + Blueprint Workshop

Shift from building single API calls to designing full agent systems. Map out how Claude can pursue a goal across multiple steps — and plan your own workflow to build on Day 2.

  • The difference between a chatbot and an agent in a professional work context
  • The agent loop: Goal, plan, act, check, repeat
  • Identifying real work tasks from your job that are suitable for an agent workflow
  • The workflow blueprint template: Trigger, goal, steps, tools, data inputs and outputs, decision points, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and success criteria
  • Lab: Draft a complete workflow blueprint for the Claude agent you will build on Day 2

( 05 )

Interaction Design, Usability & Building the Workflow Prototype

Apply interaction design principles to make your agent workflow usable, trustworthy, and effective, then build it.

  • Core interaction design principles for AI agents: visibility, feedback, user control, error recovery, consistency, and affordance
  • Usability testing concepts for AI tools: task completion rate, error rate, time on task, satisfaction, and cognitive load
  • Running structured stakeholder review sessions and acting on the feedback you receive
  • Building a multi-step workflow by chaining Claude API calls, managing state across steps, and implementing error handling
  • Sequential and parallel workflow patterns, and how to add human-in-the-loop checkpoints before irreversible actions
  • Lab: Build a working 3-step Claude workflow based on your approved blueprint, tested end-to-end with real data

( 06 )

Connecting Real Tools via MCP + Final Assignment

Connect your workflow to real work tools using the Model Context Protocol, then present your completed prototype to the group.

  • The Model Context Protocol (MCP): what it is, how it works, and how it extends Claude's capabilities without custom integrations
  • Available MCP integrations: Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, Slack, GitHub and how to connect them to your workflow
  • Visual specification documents: data flow diagrams, tool maps, interface mockups, and annotations for developers and designers
  • Assignment: present your completed workflow prototype, demonstrate it live with real data, and walk through your blueprint and documentation
  • What's next: Deploying your workflow (cron jobs, serverless functions), monitoring in production, and scaling to multi-agent systems
