Workshop Overview
Make breathtaking moments last forever by transforming them into everlasting pictures. Understand fundamental concepts in Photography such as composition, lighting techniques, and photo editing techniques using just your phone!
Be it photography for a hobby or work, it is a handy skill to have.
- Learn about different photography styles (Portrait, Food, Scenery, and Architecture)
- Understand how to use the “exposure triangle”
- Toy around with the use of lighting and natural lights
- Experiment with funky photography techniques (e.g. leading lines and Rule of thirds)
- Practice photography composition techniques
- Edit tone and colour, correct distortions, and retouch photos using various photo-editing apps

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to capture photographs that will be able to paint a story to your audience as well as edit them for presentation to others.

Is the course fee SkillsFuture claimable?
Yes, learners may choose to use SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the course fees. SkillsFuture Credits are only eligible for Singaporeans above 25 years old. You may check your balance here.
Will i need any experience to join this photography course?
This course is designed to be beginner-friendly. You do not need any pre-qualification in photography or photo editing. The only requirement is to have a smartphone with a camera.
How long is the workshop, and what is the schedule like?
Our Photography course is 2 days (16 hours) in duration and we have both weekday and weekend intakes available.
What mobile applications can be used for photo editing?
There are many phone editing apps out there in the market ranging from free to use to paid ones. Apps like Snapseed and Adobe Lightroom give you more professional functions.
Is my smartphone camera enough to capture professional looking photos?
From the first camera included in a phone to the current high megapixel smartphone camera, phone cameras rapidly evolved over the years.
The current cameras that you can find on flagship smartphones could even rival DSLRs in terms of quality, resolution and definitely usability. Even on more budget friendly phone, their camera systems are often nothing to sneeze at. This quality and the host of photo editing applications out on the market ensure that you can edit the photos that you’ve taken to any creative perfection that you desire.

Yes, we will cover photo editing using mobile apps.
