Watercolour Painting
Culture Pass Workshops
Step into one of Singapore’s most charming heritage enclaves and experience watercolour painting in a truly immersive way.
This hands-on watercolour workshop takes participants on a guided walk through Emerald Hill, where the beautifully conserved shophouses become both inspiration and subject. Surrounded by ornate facades, pastel colours, decorative tiles, and five-foot ways, participants will slow down, observe, and translate the character of the neighbourhood onto paper.
Led by experienced artists, the session begins with a gentle introduction to watercolour materials and techniques, followed by guided outdoor painting along the street. Participants will learn how to capture architectural details, light, colour, and atmosphere using watercolour washes and layering techniques. Individual guidance is provided throughout, making the workshop accessible even for beginners.
The experience concludes with a relaxed sharing session, where participants reflect on their artworks and the process of painting on location. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a completed painting and a deeper appreciation of Emerald Hill’s architectural heritage, experienced through both observation and creative expression.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and art enthusiasts alike. All materials are provided.
